Minutes of March meeting

UTTOXETER & DISTRICT BOWLS LEAGUE
MINUTES OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING HELD AT ELKES SPORTS & SOCIAL CLUB ON MONDAY THE 31ST of March 2008.
APOLOGIES: No apologies were received

PRESENT: President, Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary and all Clubs in membership

MINUTES OF MEETING HELD 1stOCTOBER 2007:

MATTERS ARISING OUT OF THE AGM:
Outstanding fines were paid except for PMR Fixers (£5) and Cheadle (£5). The chairman asked the representatives to waive the £5 fee for Henhurst, as changes of secretary and non-attendance at the previous meeting prevented them from receiving notification of the earlier than usual AGM. The representatives agreed (13 for 4 against). The £5 non-attendance fee for Henhurst at the October meeting was confirmed .

COMPETITIONS: The following nominated greens were not available:-
Checkley – June 7th, Cheadle – May 11th, Ashbourne – July 13th.and possibly Leek – June 15th.

NEW ENTRY
Bradley House to join Division 2 of Tuesday Vets league, overwhelmingly agreed.
REGISTERED PLAYERS:
Received from all clubs.

STARRED PLAYERS:
The Results Secretary noted that all starred players were in accordance with league averages except for one player from JCB. JCB agreed to the change.

PRESENTATION EVENING: The representatives overwhelmingly agreed to a hot meal at a cost of around £12 - £12.50, and that the Chairman would have the power to accept the cost and proceed.
The league will provide a draw prize of up to £50, provided this figure, together with expenses, does not exceed 20% of the ticket sales (in accordance with the law).
There will be a disco. Overwhelmingly supported.

FIXTURES: Necessary rearrangement of fixtures was completed.

REPS REPORTS – The Chairman, as league representative to the Potteries, drew attention to two changes, one regarding jacks (stamped from October 1st), the other regarding the presence of persons other than players or officials on the green where handicapped persons required assistance. Female players would be required to pay the affiliation fee.

A.O.B.: The secretary asked that each club provide an email contact. This would make it easier, quicker and more reliable than post and would save the league money.

All players needed to re-register with the PDCBA.

Next meeting 1st September 2008.
